Warsaw on Wednesday Night

A wonderful day in Warsaw, hanging out with a group UKSW students in Old Town, going through Łazienki Królewskie w Warszawie, the water palace and park of Poland's last king.  Dr. Harris and the students went through the Warsaw Uprising Museum. Several students wished they had more time. They were facinated with what they learned about what happened to Poland during the second world war. For the  first day after a long trip with jet-lag still present, everyone had a great day.

    Sounds like a fantastic first full day in Warsaw! Spending time with the UKSW students in the Old Town and exploring the impressive Łazienki Królewskie park must have been delightful experiences. It's great that Dr. Harris and the students had the opportunity to learn more about Warsaw's history at the Uprising Museum, even if they wished for more time. It's understandable that everyone might still be feeling some jet lag, but it's wonderful to hear everyone had a great day overall. We're looking forward to hearing more about your upcoming adventures in Poland

    What a fantastic day! It sounds like you've had a wonderful time exploring Warsaw and interacting with the UKSW students. The Łazienki Królewskie park and the Warsaw Uprising Museum must have been incredibly interesting and informative. I'm glad everyone is enjoying their time in Poland despite the jet lag.     Really enjoyed the way you captured the mid-week atmosphere in Warsaw—especially the blend of nightlife and quieter cultural spots. 11 Maj, 2013 – Bielsk Podlaski

Today we traveled from Białystok to a church in Belsk Podlaski - about 90 minutes south of Białystok - where we assembled 8 Ikea tables and 32 Ikea chairs that were purchased for the church with some of the funds that we raised for our trip.  The tables and chairs will be used for a fellowship hall that was built in an attic space above the church.  After we got done, we were treated to coffee, tea, and fresh punchki, a traditional Polish doughnut, usually filled with a small amount of jam and covered with melted sugar, powdered sugar, or chocolate.  We then arranged the tables and covered them with hundreds of articles of clothing that had been collected by the medical university students to give to those in need.  Afterwards, several families came by and went through the clothing, taking what they could use.  On a dare, Dr. E. tried to slip on a pair of four inch stilettos – let’s just say that his feet and legs were not meant for walking in high heels. Sunday in Sosnowiec

> We were split up in twos and threes between host families last night but joined together at church today. We enjoyed hearing familiar worship tunes sung in the very different sounds of the Polish language. After church we separated again with our host families, and tomorrow will return to the church to paint and to work on preparing the floor in the new sanctuary for the next phase of construction.

On our way

Both Milligan and Malone are at their gates in Kraków after getting up at 2 am. Flights will leave in just a little while, and Milligan will land in Munich while Malone will land in Frankfurt before their connecting flights to the US. Prayers for safe travels are appreciated.
