Service, worship and friends

Hello from Sosnowiec! My name is Daniel Adams and I am responsible for talking about our team's first full day in Sosnowiec in the Poland Trip Blog!  Just to recap the day for everyone, we left our hostel around 9 a.m. to go to the church to do some work. But before we actually worked there, we had an amazing breakfast provided by Pastor Daniel. Traditionally, Polish breakfast includes cold cuts, cheese, and the most amazing sausage and the best bread ever!! Then we started working on several jobs including sanding/staining wood planks, painting primer on the inside brick walls in the church fellowship room, installing a vent above the stove for the kitchen, and working on the plaster of the hallway and stairs to prepare it for painting next week. We worked for about 3-4 hours, then we had our main course dinner around 3pm which included baked chicken, cooked potatoes and a homemade coleslaw of cabbage and cream.  Around 4 p.m. we prepared for the youth group that was coming at 5 p.m.. Sunday, the 8th is a Polish holiday , Women's Day, so the youth group provided all the ladies in the youth group and all of the Malone and Milligan women essential oils for a diffuser. It was a great gesture of gratitude toward the women.  We enjoyed amazing hospitality from Pastor Daniel and his family and the ladies who cooked for us and the people in the youth group. We got to worship together which was powerful. I had the opportunity to share the message to the youth group tonight about spiritual wellness and it went really well (not trying to be too biased!) . Then we got to hang out with the youth group, playing games, talking, and eating even more food. All the students made a great connection with the Polish people, and we wrapped up our night by debriefing at our hostel and we called it a night. This was a long day, but a very blessed and satisfying day overall! I am really excited to see what else God does with our team!  (NOTE FROM DR. E.: Dr. Mudrack and I are very proud of our team!  The Malone and Milligan students have blended really well.  We are all healthy - perhaps a bit tired and jet lagged - but very grateful to be here.  We've already begun to hear choruses of "I don't want to go home" :)
